The mechanical truck was very inconvenient and not at all what I expected to happen less than a year after purchase…however this issue was not the dealership, it was the manufacturer and my service provider, Kaylen, couldn’t have been more accommodating. She went out of her way to provide me a loaner vehicle as well as find me a shuttle to and from work multiple times. The situation was not ideal, but Kaylen made me feel at ease knowing she was in my corner and was looking out for me. I recommend utilizing her as a service advisor as you won’t be disappointed. I hope not to see Kaylen anytime soon other than for regular maintenance, but if I do I know I am in good hands.

Horrible experience!! Service Appt on Monday, March 3, I had to leave my 2025 brand new truck to be checked out. No loaner available. I had to call repeatedly/daily to see what was going on. I was finally told my service specialist was out sick but my truck was in the shop. Constantly no word so finally on Friday, March 14, no issues were found and truck was ready for pickup. I catch a ride to Gonzales to pick up my truck & Bryce my service man gives me my keys and says u can go get your truck off the line. Well I go in the parking lot and could not find my truck, I walked almost the entire dealership and hit my panic button to help me locate my truck and still no truck. So finally a salesman sitting outside approached me to say can I help u sir, after about 10 minutes or do looking for my truck. Well he couldn’t locate it either. So I went back to Bryce and he walked what I guess was the line and no truck so finally he walked towards the very back, of the dealership and pressed the panic button and finally found my Filthy, pollen covered truck, that’s been sitting out at the dealership, no complimentary wash, which I requested, and upon pick up was told by Bryce that this request should have been done to my salesman!! Okay so now u tell me this. Ross Downing has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. This is totally unacceptable and steps need to be taken by management to do better. Why couldn’t the service guy go get my vehicle or have it parked outside near service visible upon my arrival when I had called to alert him that I was in route to pick my truck up after being without a ride all week. Other dealerships have always exceeded my expectations but never again will I ever buy a vehicle from Ross Downing, Gonzales. Thank you!!

My experience with Todd Parker was great. He was very professional and kind. I also met with the sales manager Abner, who was fine as well. Upon our negotiations, I made it perfectly clear, and in writing to Todd and Abner, to complete the deal upon one major request. If I chose financing, our credit scores were 820+. Thus, I would only consider one creditor, GMC Financial. As a result, do not pull my credit from any other source. I see this morning, after checking my credit, the finance manager --- even after making my request clear and in writing, pulled my credit for Ross Downing Automotive, in addition to GMC. Why? For a customer paying cash, or a minimum of $25,000 down payment, with such credit scores, why did he pull my credit twice. If he had a question about the request, that should have been done prior, and was not a decision he was given authority to complete. This is quite concerning and I am very upset, as you can tell. Have the GM reach out with a remedy, for my credit scores are affect our other business dealings, outside of the dealership (as I told them in advance).

Salesman was excellent! He provided great service and showed much concern for customer satisfaction. The dealership policies, on the other hand, have a lot to be desired. We spoke with our salesman multiple times over the phone and stated which truck we wanted and made an appointment to pick it up. Our salesman advised management of this. We received two separate emails from management, the day prior to and the morning of our appointment and we verified we were on our way to purchase the truck. When we arrived, we were told that the truck we were there to purchase, was sold by another salesman. The buyer actually arrived while we were there. That’s not at all acceptable in our opinion. If it had not been for our salesman we would have left the dealership very upset. But we looked at other vehicles and found one we were satisfied with and made a purchase. Thank you Mr. Eric for your patience and understanding of our very obvious disappointment in this occurrence and for helping us to have a good day in the end.

To be honest the entire time I was dealing with Pamela her attitude was not great and I was very rushed throughout the process. Especially when i was done signing papers with the financial department. When it was time to setup everything in my truck right before I left Pamelas attitude towards me signing into the radio system was basically like she was aggravated and did not want to be there. While trying to connect my phone to the radio she kept telling me how to connect it and when it didn’t work 5 times in a row i suggested plugging it in instead of trying just bluetooth and when i plugged the wire in she proceeded to yank the wire out of the plug stating “I know you probably know your technology but I do this everyday and i know how this works” so after trying for another 5 minutes i just plugged my phone in and everything worked correctly. Overall experience with Pamela just felt rushed and like she had something better to be doing rather than to be working with me as a customer.

Brought truck in for check engine light on. Grill shutter needed to be replaced. Picked up truck after repairs were done and noticed trim clips broken and not in place on front grill and also wheel fender trim. Service manager seemed to not care. Service clerk was very polite about the situation.

Bryce is working to get the dent repaired that occurred during a previous service. He has been very helpful and professional. Also, Marie took care of not only replacing my locking lug nut that wasn’t reinstalled when Oil change and tire rotation was done but she had all 4 locking lug nuts replaced so the socket would be the same for all 4. The quality of work done to my vehicle is great. The time taken for the repair was much longer than I expected. It was noted that Ross Downing has 1 diesel mechanic. I would think additional resources to repair diesel vehicles would be very beneficial, due to the popularity of 1500 diesels today. It doesn’t seem very efficient to have 1 diesel mechanic and the timeline for repair showed this inefficiency.

My experience wasn’t exactly flawless…. There was a mix up where my paperwork was mixed up with another vehicles and I was called and told that I had issues other than what I brought my truck in for…. But let me say that I was called back promptly and told that there was a slight mix up with service tickets and indeed my 2020 GMC only had an A/C problems. Now let me get to the GOOD STUFF!! I was EXTREMELY pleased with the service that I received…. I spoke with Bryce in the service department MANY times throughout the repair that was being performed (replacing my Evaporator core, idler pulley and serpentine belt) again I was VERY IMPRESSED with Bryce’s professionalism and attitude throughout the process! This was honestly the most pleasant and informative experience that I’ve ever had at a dealership…. Especially a “service department” I actually live in Bayou Sorrel La. Which is over an hour away from Ross Downing Gonzales but the service there was WORTH THE DRIVE and I’ll take it again if my truck needs any other repairs!!! I’m not sure who will receive this review, but please give a special THANK YOU (and a raise 😜) to Bryce and his team in the service department! Have a blessed day!!!!

Very dissatisfied and disappointed with the condition of the truck upon delivery. I spent 6 hours today cleaning up all of the tire shine that was sprayed all over the wheels. It was disgusting. They are still not to what the delivery standard should be so I'm going to have to pull the wheels one by one to clean the inside of the rims. Tell your detail team that I am rating them 0 star

After keeping my vehicle for over 2 weeks they send me a laundry list of stuff that doesn’t need to be done just to make it look like they did something. They broke a bolt changing breaks (probably using an impact where they shouldn’t) and had to order a new one. They told me the truck was complete and I could come pick it up on Saturday. The Friday before service department calls and says the bolt came in for your truck when could you bring it in? My truck was already there and they had no idea. When I went to pick it up on Saturday I was not told I could not pay for it on Saturday so me showing up was a waste of my time. This was the last time I ever use a dealership for this vehicle, and I was not happy with the service.

Had appointment and when I arrived was told that was only for checking truck in and that they would look at truck in 24 to 48 hours. During 6 days they had truck all communication initiated by me. When picking up truck young lady was gone about 15 minutes to get truck. Showed up in passenger seat with a young man driving. She said it was in a tight space and she could not get it out. It now has a new dent under right rear taillight. Also 28 miles were put on truck.

In the beginning I reach out to several dealerships, your dealership was the first to respond back with no pressure trying to get me to come in make a quick deal. They asked me what I was looking for and proceeded to tell me they would prepare some different options that may fit my needs. Within the hour I had three options to choose from. After I took a look at the three over the internet I decided to make the trip to the dealership to see them in person . On the way to the dealership I received a call from Mr. Ray Jackson stating that he had the trucks out and ready to look at. Once we arrived Mr. Ray went over the options and difference between the three. We took a test drive where he explained more of the bells and whistles of the vehicle . We arrived back at the dealership talked numbers for a bit then went ahead with the purchase. Jeff in finance made it a breeze with all the paperwork and documentation. This all happened before I got one call back from the other dealerships.

Brought my truck in at 7:00am Friday morning for what I was told a 3 hour recall job. I called on 3 occasions that evening to find out about my truck. Left 2 messages to call me I heard nothing. On the 3rd call I got the service person who said let me pull the ticket took my phone number again I waited the rest of the day heard nothing. They kept my truck through the weekend and Monday I called the service manager left a massage he never called. I had to leave town Monday evening so Tuesday morning I showed up to get my truck fixed or not. It was fixed I think Friday. I will never go back to Ross Downing and never buy a automobile from them.

I brought my truck in for the first oil change which was complimentary. When I picked it up, I was charged to fill the DEF. I asked about that and was told that everything else was covered, but the DEF was not. When I got home, I had a flyer in the mail from GM letting me know my first service was coming up and that it was complimentary at the dealership. In the flyer it broke down everything covered and filling up the DEF was in fact supposed to be part of the free first service. Everything else was a great experience.

Let me start like this now I brought my Buick Envison well let me rephrase that I had it towed to the Gonzales dealership because their was a noise coming from the back rotors and I had to leave it at the Dealership, but the sad part about it is I brought the vehicle from Ross Downing and I was very upset that they didn't have a loner on hand. Now I had to get a rent at my expense because when the dealership found out that it was just a rock stuck in between the calipers my warranty wouldn't pay anything towards the rental and on top of that the dealership had to make some money off of me and went and did a diagnostic on my vehicle without my consent just to Mae some money off of me and that was wrong in so many ways, and then they had the nerves to charge me $195.00 for it so I am very disappointed with Ross Downing service department and dealership. If I knew all this was going to happen I would have thought twice about the situation and took my vehicle somewhere trustworthy and yes I am an VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.... FEEL FREE TO REACH OUT TO ME BUT I KNOW NOBODY WILL HAVE A BLESSED DAY...

The Finance Manager Jonathan worked with us to explain every document we were signing and worked quickly to complete all paperwork. Oil and filter change, tire rotation, and misc incidental maintenance all done professionally and courteously. My one takaway for you and GM is this.: your refusal to uninstall the auto start/stop feature. I have bought and driven Buicks every year but one since 1976, and was happy with every one because of the quality, comfort, and performance - until now. Buick has the audacity to impose their auto start/stop feature, and dealer's refusal to remove it. Thus, my long history of Buick ownership is now at an end, and I will probably get rid of my present Buick soon, never to return.

It took 1 & 1/2 hours to get an oil change. I had to call the service rep and ask why it was taking so long. He said they are trying a new customer service program and it is complicated and is taking everyone a while to learn the system. When it was finally completed he brought me to the cashier and left. Then I learned that the coupon I brought in was not applied; I had an appointment so I had to leave. My $79.95 oil change costed me $104.11. Not a pleased customer at the moment.

Total incompetence. Went in for an oil change, tire rotation, and engine air filter. They also tapped on a recall that wasn’t listed on the app. They told me it had to do with transmission and I told them I had to get my valve body replaced twice earlier already and they mentioned this is a possible fix for the transmission. Did not expect to lose my car for any more than one day, but they said it will take 2-3 days on a Wednesday but should be good to go the following Monday at the latest. Moral of story, it took one full week with no loaner that greatly affected my job. It was ready Wednesday evening (1 week from turn in) and I get my car back early Thursday and they tell me in passing that they did not need to even perform the recall because my transmission was good to go? So they kept my truck for a week for basically an oil change. I don’t understand how they could not just determine if my truck needed the recall in the beginning instead of keeping my car for a week and then determining that I didn’t need it - very inconsiderate. Also, super fishy that a recall is needed but my profile on MyGMC lists none and then they don’t even perform the recall? I found the recall…it was from back in April 2025…my transmission was fixed back in February/March so my truck could easily still need the recall. There is more to my experience, but no chance I go back to Ross Downing. Only positives were my experience with Jonathan, the shuttle man, and Bryce was fast to respond to my texts.

I came to get my vehicle repaired for damages that was promised to me to get fixed immediately once i purchased my vehicle. And the salesman Tiga and Brennan gave me the run around about getting my vehicle fixed immediately from water leaking inside my sunroof and inside wall cushions hanging and damage before purchasing my vehicle. I made an appointment for repairs but service didn’t have any rentals for me at all . So i had to cancel my appointment and speak with the Roos dealer ship manager Kevin about my situation. He said that he would fit me in the following Monday for my repairs and rental . But still haven’t heard anything yet . And my vehicle has water dripping inside still putting my vehicle at risk for more damages .Its really freaking sad for this type of business after dropping $30,000 on my vehicle on site just so i can be satisfied and have a reliable vehicle i thought . But im going to take this situation seriously in my own hands behind there unprofessional actions towards me . I’ll never shop there again .

I brought my Yukon in for an oil change, and brakes. I also wanted them to look at my charging ports not working. Unbeknownst to me in their mind the most important thing was diagnosing the problem with my ports. So when I called at 2 because I hadn’t heard anything update wise I was told they were still trying to diagnose it. My vehicle had been hooked up since 8am and they still couldn’t figure out the problem. Because there was a loaner vehicle for me to use my husband called and told them to unhook and change the oil so we could pick it up. We can’t be without a vehicle. Maintenance work should be done first that way when it takes forever to diagnose a problem at least the maintenance is done. Now I have to bring it back again for brakes and hope they can figure out the problem.

When scheduling, was told repairs were gonna take a few hours, now they tell me it will take a couple days and I would need a rental if I needed to get around. Had to reschedule and was told I they would supply me a rental when I come back . A few days before next appointment, was told no rental was available and would have to reschedule again. I was very disappointed with the service department. I dropped my new Sierra 2500 ultimate off for service, warranty work, and part installation. They didn’t have any of the parts needed when I had been in communication for over a month about what warranty work I needed done. Then I had purchased color matched wheel fenders months ago at the this location. They received them and said they would store them for me. I called a week before I brought the vehicle in to verify these were still there. They informed me they had them. This was apparently a lie because they were never there and were failed to be installed. Even though when I checked on the status of the truck I was told “they were almost done installing them”. They had my truck for over 24 hours and not a single service was completed. They didn’t inform of this either. When I called the morning I planned to pick up my vehicle, I was told not a single thing was done and vehicle was not ready for pick up. This was never relayed to me that vehicle would need multiple days for repair, which would hinder my ability to work. I am also very disappointed in the GM. During my month long attempt to get warranty work completed I had made several attempts to speak to him about this , he would never call me back. Not once did I ever hear from him. I was left attempting to get this resolved to is through the sales representative I purchased vehicle with. He was helpful to an extent but ultimately had issues telling the truth as well. I will not be purchasing a vehicle from this store again and I will be passing this along to my 144 businesses partners to also buy very expensive trucks for their work to avoid this location as well.

I had a 1:30 PM appointment. They brought my truck in at 1:30 PM and worked on it till 3:30 for a first oil change. I thought it would only be an hour like my appointment was and I missed some work meetings due to this. On a positive note, they did all the services needed including rotating my tires. I ask when it would be ready and within 10 minutes it was pulled out the stall. It has greasy handprints on it all over the front fenders and doors where they touched it. The truck is black and shows everything, so I did not say anything to them because I was in a hurry. I believe if I would not have rushed them they probably would have taken care of the hand smudges.

Bryce does a great job communicating. The dealership does a horrible job with servicing and/or repairing vehicles in a timely manner. I had a scheduled appointment for my car to be serviced and repaired. My car sat in the parking lot for almost two whole days and was not even put inside of one of the mechanic bays. Called dealership and told salesperson what I wanted and he said he has what we looking for and would have it up front when we get there. We showed up and he showed us the vehicle. Thereafter, we sat down and visited with sales manager. 10 minutes later we were wrapping up deal and signing papers while vehicle was being prepared. With all this said, I have bought many vehicles but this was the first time that it was this easy and quick. Everyone was so polite , including other sales reps and personnel. The overall experience was ok. Had a scheduled 7:30 am appt. to drop vehicle off. I was there and ready to drop off before 7:30. Check in process was fine. I was told I would either get it back on Thursday evening or Friday. Received a call Friday morning to let me know they still had not worked on my car and were going to try and get to it Friday as they only had one person working on the recalls. Let them know I made an appointment Thursday for a reason and I had a lot to do over the weekend. I was told if it wasn't ready I could come pick it up and return it on Monday. I let them know Monday was not an option as I needed my vehicle to get to work. I scheduled this appointment on a Thursday morning for a reason. Thankfully, my vehicle ended up being ready Friday afternoon. However, I shouldn't have to worry about this when scheduling an appointment. They need to schedule their vehicles better. Also was informed they changed the oil and the oil cap, but no one reset the gauge. I quit using Ross Downing for my routine service because we would always find they didn't rotate the tires, leave grease on my vehicle etc.

I purchased a used vehicle from there and before I received the license plates, the check engine light came on and I started having multiple issues. I made an appointment for 12/11/25 and service stated that they may need to keep the truck over the weekend so I rented a vehicle at $45/day. After 7 days, not one tech even put the keys in the ignition. I then got a call saying they wanted to keep it another weekend in hopes that they may have someone available. This is obvious unacceptable and cost me over $300 for the week for nothing to be done. I rescheduled for the next available time and am hopeful it may be looked at. I came here because my father bought a vehicle from here a few months prior but I have not had a pleasant experience.

I brought my 2022 truck in for service. What I got back was a truck covered with paint over spray. This is gross negligence on your part for placing my truck in harm’s way due to your construction. To add insult to injury, I’m forced to take drive my truck in this condition. Along with paying you $489.00 for a battery, no loaner until I am made hold again. A couple of months earlier I came in for an oil change, only to find the dirt from your construction area in my carpet and floor mats. I’m not pleased at all with your service department. No one should ever have to experience what I experience, having bought my $65000.00 truck from you.

I had got a price for doing some work on my GMC truck. I had a price for the parts and he told me it would be $410 for 2 hours of work. When I got the bill the parts was more than they told me and then they charged me tax on the $410 so the labor was $451 plus parts. $225 an hour is crazy. I will never go there for service again. Now the did fix my truck, I had no problem with that.
